Perry Hewitt on Harvard’s Social Media

In an effort to create a greater social experience at Harvard, Perry Hewitt — Director of Digital Communications and Communications Services at Harvard University — has been has been using the web and social networks create an online presence for Harvard. Through unifying content from around the university she has been able to help different departments work more closely. Discussions on live panel feeds have allowed for interaction from around the world. And, placing lectures on iTunes U and video sites, like YouTube, has allowed people to educate themselves in their homes. Hewitt says her goal is answer the question: how can we be helpful?
